The MYND Life Skills Programme is designed to help young people (like you!) build confidence, understand themselves better, and make choices that lead to a brighter, more positive future.
Whether you're thinking about your next steps in school, work, or just trying to figure things out, this program gives you real-life tools to help you feel more confident, think clearly, and deal with challenges in a healthy way.
We've created MYND to be practical, engaging, and full of energy. Each module is brought to life with short audio stories, cool animated videos, and characters you'll want to listen to. These stories and tools will help you believe that change is possible – not just for others, but for you.

You can work through the programme independently or with someone supporting you – a coach, mentor, teacher, or friend. You can stop and reflect anytime, making it work at your own pace.
Why it works: The science and evidence
The MYND programme is grounded in proven methods – using practical techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused approaches. But don't worry – it's not full of jargon. It's made simple, fun, and, most importantly, valid.

Module 1: The Power to Change Starts with You
This first module sets the scene for the MYND journey. It’s all about helping you believe that positive change is not just possible – it’s possible for you.
We introduce the programme and its purpose: to give you the tools and mindset to face challenges, grow in confidence and take control of your future. You’ll meet a range of characters and hear inspiring stories from real people – some you may know, like Usher, Floyd Mayweather, Rocky, Ronaldo, Oprah, and JK Rowling – who all overcame tough beginnings to achieve great things.
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about learning that failure is part of success, and that your choices – not your circumstances – shape your future. The module introduces two powerful tools to guide your thinking and behaviour:

Module 2: Failure Isn't the End – It's the Start
This module dives into something we all experience – failure. But instead of seeing failure as something to fear or feel ashamed of, we flip the script. Failure is a part of life – and often, it's the first step toward success.
You'll hear powerful stories of people who struggled, stumbled, and messed up – but still made it. From celebrities to everyday people, these stories remind us that where you start doesn't define where you end up.
We explore the truth that your choices matter more than your circumstances. Even when life feels unfair or stacked against you, your decisions can put you on a new path. You might not have had strong role models, but you can learn by watching others handle pressure, setbacks, and second chances.
This module also helps you face the fear of failure – something that can hold us all back. We'll start building self-trust and confidence so you can take the first steps toward change.
We introduce two big ideas:
- No matter your background, you can succeed if you keep making better choices and expect setbacks as part of the journey.
- Where you're from can be your strength – the toughness, grit, and resilience you've gained might just be your superpower.

Module 3: Stop Holding Yourself Back
In this module, we dig deeper into how failure – or the fear of failure – can mess with our choices. Sometimes, we make decisions that hold us back to avoid looking bad in front of others. Sound familiar?
We explore self-handicapping – a behaviour where we purposely avoid trying our best or make excuses so that if things go wrong, we can protect our ego. It might make us feel better in the short term, but in the long run, it keeps us stuck.
You’ll see how this shows up in everyday life, including examples from school and sports. Maybe it’s not studying for a test so you can say, “I didn’t even try,” or messing around in training so you don’t have to face a poor performance.
We break down why this happens, how it protects our self-esteem in the moment, and why it’s a dangerous trap to fall into. More importantly, we’ll show you how to spot and stop it by shifting focus from blame and excuses to resilience, responsibility, and finding solutions.
This is about learning to support yourself—even when you’re unsure. Real strength comes from showing up, not making excuses.

Module 4: Shortcuts vs. the Long Game
This module gets honest about our tough choices – especially regarding short-term wins versus long-term goals.
Let's be honest: It's way easier to go for what feels good right now – junk food, a smoke, a risky decision, or quick cash. Are the rewards immediate, and what are the long-term benefits? They can feel a million miles away... and even then, where there's no guarantee, they'll they'll pay off.
We explain why taking the shortcut is so tempting, especially when life feels unfair, or pressure is high – like when people depend on you or you need money fast.
This module explores how thinking errors and short-term decisions can lead to more significant problems later, even though they might feel like solutions. We look at how your conscience and choices are connected – and how learning to delay gratification can lead to better, more lasting success.
We also bring back the 3Ds – Decision, Determination, and Discipline – as tools to face hard choices and stay focused, even when the rewards take time.
The truth is that there's no easy path. But there is a better one – and this module helps you see how to find it.

Module 5: Choices That Change Everything
This module looks deeper at how your choices shape your future – not just for today, but for the bigger picture of your life.
We revisit the difference between chasing short-term pleasure and staying focused on long-term goals. It’s not easy, especially when life throws challenges your way. But some of the world’s most successful athletes have faced serious setbacks – and kept going. Their stories prove that hard work and resilience in the face of obstacles pay off.
You’ll also be asked to reflect on something powerful: how your choices affect others, especially those who care most about you. This isn’t just about what you want – it’s also about who you want to be for your friends, family, and future self.
We explore how to weigh up your options, think through decisions, and become more aware of what’s happening in your head. That includes learning to know your self-talk – how you speak to yourself – and how to shift it to be more helpful and positive.
One key idea introduced in this module is “choice points” – a concept used in addiction recovery. It shows how, at any moment, you can pause, reflect, and decide to take a different path. You’re never too far down a road to make a better choice.
This module is all about recognising your power to pause, reflect, and act in ways that build the life you want – even when it’s hard.

Module 6: Think First, Act Smart
This module builds on what you've already explored – the challenge of choosing long-term goals over short-term temptations – and introduces a fascinating experiment involving kids, sweets, and self-control. (Spoiler: the kids who held out did way better later in life!)
The focus here is on impulse control – that split-second moment where you either act on a feeling or pause to think. We explore how learning to wait can be a game-changer for your confidence, future, and the way you handle pressure.
You'll discover how more assertive thinking leads to better choices, and you'll get three simple tools to help you build that self-control muscle:
- Weigh it up: Learn how to look at the pros and cons before deciding.
- If… then… thinking: A smart way to plan so you don't get caught off guard.
- Practice under pressure: Try new reactions and behaviours before you're in challenging situations to be ready when it counts.
This module reminds you that controlling impulses isn't about being perfect – it's about getting better at spotting your "choice points" and taking back control of your reactions.

Module 7: 7 Life Lessons from Eminem
In this module, we dive into the powerful true story of one of the world’s most iconic music artists – Eminem – and the life lessons we can learn from his journey.
Growing up with no money, no support, and no obvious way out, Eminem faced enormous challenges: a tough home life, dead-end jobs, addiction, relationship breakdowns, and constant rejection. But through it all, he held onto one thing – his dream.
His story teaches us that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built on hard work, resilience, and self-belief – even when life keeps knocking you down.
You’ll uncover seven key life lessons drawn from Eminem’s journey, showing how determination, bouncing back from failure, and staying focused on your goals can help you rise – no matter where you start.
This isn’t just about music or fame. It’s about learning to own your story, face your struggles, and keep pushing forward – one choice, one step, one fight at a time.

Module 8: Show Up Strong – Inside and Out
This is one of our favourite modules – and for good reason. It was the very first written, and it might be the most crucial message in the entire programme: how you see and present yourself matters.
In this module, we explore the power of self-presentation and respect – both how you carry yourself on the outside and what you say to yourself on the inside. How you speak to yourself (your self-talk) can build you up or break you down – and this module helps you flip the script.
You’ll learn how to spot negative or irrational thoughts and replace them with more helpful, constructive ones. Using simple examples, we show how raising your standards – even just a bit – can grow your confidence and prepare you for real change.
You’ll also discover the difference between saying “I should” and saying “I must” – a shift in mindset that can make a huge difference in motivation and follow-through.
The module looks at:
- Changing the labels, you give yourself
- Shutting down self-doubt with more substantial inner talk
- Dealing with peer pressure and how to stand firm in who you are
- Staying consistent in your approach – because real change happens through daily choices
This is about showing up for yourself, owning your identity, and building the kind of self-respect that others notice – and that you can be proud of.

Module 9: Turning Dreams Into Reality
This module is about taking those big dreams in your head – and learning how to make them real. With inspiring stories and a simple 10-step guide, you'll get practical tools to help you move forward with more clarity, confidence, and belief in yourself.
One powerful story in this module comes from a young man involved in drug dealing. When asked how he ran his operation – from buying and selling to advertising and marketing – it became clear he already had strong business skills. He realised he had what it takes to succeed in work and life by shifting those talents into a legal, positive environment. You might be surprised at how much potential you're already carrying.
The 10-step guide gives you an easy-to-follow structure – a kind of success framework – based on lessons from real people (just like you) who have faced setbacks, worked hard, and made something extraordinary happen.
You'll also explore the "price tag" of success – achieving your goals takes effort, sacrifice, and patience. But the reward? It's worth it.
This module brings together key messages from earlier in the programme, including:

Module 10: Ready for the Real World

In this final module, we bring everything together. After all the tools, stories, and strategies you’ve explored, we hope you feel more confident, more aware, and more ready to start making positive changes in your life.
To help you stay on track, we finish with something powerful – a list of the 10 most common obstacles that might get in your way. This isn’t about being negative – it’s about being prepared. When challenges come (and they will), you’ll be ready. You’ll have the skills, mindset, and resilience to handle them.
This module reminds you of one key message:
Success takes time, effort, and patience. But the rewards of long-term thinking, hard work, and wise choices are always more significant than any quick fix or short-term buzz.
